About The Priory Bed and Breakfast.
The Priory is full of interesting history with its big turret on the front which dates back to the 13th Century.
The Priory was once lived in by the monastery many years ago and had connections with the local Church in Whitchurch. During their stay, they managed to salvage a very large stained glass window which floods the entrance hall with all of its beautiful colours. The top section of the stained glass window was removed and placed into the entrance door which is quite an interesting piece of history in itself. The turret on the front of the building, besides making it look like a rather impressive castle is actually the oldest building in Tavistock to date.
The Priory was also used as a boarding school back in the 1950's onwards.
We have even had the pleasure of hosting some of the people who went to school here!
